Ademola Lookman stole the show with a brace, but it was Manuel Muriel’s stoppage-time winner that secured a dramatic 3-2 victory for Atalanta over AC Milan in their Italian Serie A clash on Saturday.

Lookman opened the scoring in the 38th minute and doubled Atalanta’s lead just after halftime. However, Milan fought back with goals from Olivier Giroud and Luka Jovic, sending the match into a tense final stretch.

Just when it seemed Milan would secure a hard-earned point, Luis Muriel emerged as the hero, grabbing the winner deep into injury time to snatch all three points for Atalanta.

The victory marked Atalanta’s seventh win of the season, while Lookman’s brace took his league tally to six goals in 16 games. His compatriot, Samuel Chukwueze, started for Milan but failed to find the net in his 59 minutes on the pitch.

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini praised Lookman’s performance. “He’s doing very well this season, but he has some dips and troughs, that’s normal,” Gasperini told DAZN after the win.

“What he must learn is to share the same spirit and determination as the team, and realize when it’s not your day, then you have to work for the team.”
