The 10th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon is set for February 15, 2025, with organisers promising an event that will celebrate athleticism, unity, and global excellence.
Since its debut in 2016, the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon has grown into one of the world’s fastest-rising road races, attracting elite athletes and thousands of participants annually. As it marks a decade, Nilayo Sports Management, the event’s organizer, aims to deliver an even grander experience.
“As the world celebrates a decade of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, it is clear that this race is more than just a sporting event,” Yetunde Olopade, Chief Executive Officer of Nilayo Sports Management said.
“It is a movement that inspires health, fosters international camaraderie, and positions Lagos as a city to watch on the global athletics map,” she added.
Already one of the richest road races globally in terms of prize money, the marathon’s 10th edition is expected to draw elite runners from long-distance powerhouses like Kenya and Ethiopia, alongside competitors from France and other nations.
With more than 4,000 foreign runners and 100 elite athletes anticipated, the event is set to further cement its status as a premier international road race while showcasing the city’s energy and growing influence in global athletics.
